How it works

  1. 01Choose how many IMEIs you need.
  2. 02Optionally enter a TAC prefix to generate numbers for a specific model range.
  3. 03Copy the list or download it as TXT, CSV or JSON.

How generated IMEIs are built

Each number is 14 random digits plus a check digit calculated with the Luhn algorithm, so it passes the same validation real IMEIs do. Without a prefix we use the 00 range, which is reserved for test equipment.

Only for testing

Generated IMEIs belong to no real phone. Changing a phone's IMEI is illegal in many countries, including the UK and India. Use these numbers only in test data.

Anatomy of an IMEI

Every IMEI has the same 15-digit structure. Each part tells you something different.

350020981234564
TAC#1–8

Type Allocation Code. Identifies the manufacturer and exact model. The first two digits are the reporting body.

Serial#9–14

Unique number the manufacturer assigns to this single device.

Check digit#15

Calculated from the other 14 with the Luhn formula. Catches typos.
